NEXT YEAR PREDICTIONS

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

OKAY SO HERE IT IS MY PREDICTIONS FOR NEXT YEAR AND LEST C IF I WAS RIGHT LAST YEAR

FROM LAST YEAR:

JPY ENT: I WAS KINDA OF RIGHT JYP WAS SUCCESSFUL THE WONDER GIRLS CAME OUT WITH TWO GREAT SELLING MINI ALBUMS, AND JYP DID RELEASE A RIVAL SUPER JUNIOR GROUP CALLED ONE DAY EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE DEBUTED SEPERATELY AS 2AM AND 2PM. UNFORTUNATELY THE TWO U.S. TRAINED SINGERS DIDNT DEBUT.

SM ENT: I WAS TOTALLY WRONG. SM FOCUSED OF MUSIC MORE THAN MOVIES. THEY DEBUT SHINEE AND GOT DBSK BACK TO KOREA FOR THE YEAR. I WAS RIGHT THAT BOA DID PREPARE AND HAS DEBUTED IN AMERICA.

YG ENT: I WAS SPOT ON THEY DID RELEASE MORE THAN JUST MINI ALBUM AND HAVE BECOME THE ONE OF THE HOTTEST GROUPS IN KOREA WITH THERE SUCCESS JAPAN STEADILY BECOME MORE POPULAR.

OTHER MAJOR ENT:

THANK GOD FOR MNET AND DR MUSIC THEY WERE ABLE TO BRING BACK KARAAND HYORI… LAST YEAR I WAS WORRIED THAT KARA WOULD NOT GET ENOUGH PROMOTIONS TO BE SUCCESSFUL BUT I WRONG UNFORTUNATELY THEY HAD TO LOSE A MEMBER BUT GAINED TWO NEW MEMBERS AND HAVE BECOME VERY SUCCESSFUL. HYORI *U GO GIRL* SHE HAD A GREAT COMEBACK IT’S SAD THAT SHE IS FALLING APART BUT HOPEFULLY SHE RECOVERS.

OKAY SO HERE IS TO NEXT YEAR:

JYP: WITH THE WONDER GIRLS GOING OVER TO AMERICA FOR A WHILE I THINK THAT ONE DAY WILL FINALLY DEBUT AS A FULL GROUP. AND SOMETHING TELLS ME WE HAVENT SEEN THE END TO JOO ANYTIME SOON, I BELIEVE SHE WILL COMEBACK WITH A NEW MUSIC GENRE.

SM ENT: BOA WILL BE TOP PRIORITY HERE IN THE STATES THEY WILL HANDLE HER WITH CARE UNTIL SHE IS AT THE TOP OF THE CHARTS. DBSK WILL RELEASE ANOTHER ALBUM *JAPANESE* AND BEGIN THERE PREP FOR THEIR U.S. DEBUTS. SHINEE WILL RELEASE MINI ALBUMS AND ANOTHER ALBUM AND GET READY FOR A 2010 DEBUT IN JAPAN. SNSD WILL KICK THE YEAR OFF SUCCESSFULLY. SOMETHING TELLS ME THAT CSJH WILL COMEBACK TO KOREA AND BE A BIG HIT. SUPER JUNIOR WILL COMEBACK WITH SOME TYPE OF CONTROVERSEY *IT MIGHT NOT BE ONLY 13*.

YG ENT: THEIR NEW GIRL GROUP WILL BE A BIG HIT IN FEB. I BELIEVE ONCE AGAIN THAT BIG BANG WILL STILL TAKE THE ROLE OF TOP GROUP AND BECOME EVEN MORE SUCCESSFULLY AS THEY MOVE TO BECOME A MORE GLOBAL BRAND YES BRAND NOT BAND.

KPOP AS WHOLE: NEW MUIC DIRECTION THAT COMES KINDA LEFT FIELD, JUST LIKE HOW THE HOUSE/TECHNO/ELECTRONICA MUSIC CRAZE CAME ALMOST OUT OF NOWHERE *THANKS BIG BANG*A NEW CRAZE WILL TAKE OVER THE KPOP SCENE. MORE AND MORE COMEBACKS FOR SINGERS WHO HAVE TAKEN LONG BREAKS AND MORE CROSSOVERS FROM ACTORS TO MODE AND MAYBE JUST MAYBE AN AMERICAN WILL DEBUT IN THE MUSIC SCENE.

Precious Silver Jewelry

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

Silver jewelry is cheaper but more aesthetic alternative to the yellow metal. The scope for mix and match is much greater than gold jewelry. A recent trend seen is adding semi precious stones colored in lavender, black, blue, pink etc. The visual effect exuding from such combination of the sheen of sterling silver and the dazzling colors of stones should be seen to be believed and experienced.

Christies sells diamond for record $24.3 million

Monday, December 29th, 2008

Wednesday Christie’s Auction House sold an extremely rare, 17th-century fancy deep grayish-blue diamond for 16.39 million pounds ($24.3 million), a world record price for any diamond or piece of jewelry sold at auction.

The pre-sale estimate was about half the sale price, 9 million pounds.

Famed jeweler Laurence Graff bought the 35.56-carat, historic Wittelsbach diamond, which came to the international market for the first time in almost 80 years, in a highly competitive auction, a Christie’s spokesperson told Reuters.

Large blue diamonds of high clarity, such as this, are very rare. The history of the stone also enhanced its value.

“The importance of the piece, the rarity of it, was recognized,” said Keith Penton, head of Christie’s jewelry department in London.

He said there was strong interest in the diamond from jewelers and private collectors.

The diamond, which was found in an Indian diamond mine, was part of the dowry of the Infanta Margarita Teresa (1651-1673) upon her engagement to Leopold I of Austria.
