Jewelry clasps keep pieces like necklaces, bracelets and anklets securely in place, and even though we usually think of clasps as functional components — or we don’t think about them at all — a designer’s ability to choose the best clasp for a piece of jewelry can either enhance or detract from its overall appearance. It’s not all about looks though. Ask yourself a few questions about clasps before you buy jewelry. Can you open the clasp easily? Is the jewelry secure when the clasp is closed? If the clasp is visible, is it attractive? I hope my clasp tutorial will help you make good clasp selections.
