You may or may not have heard of the Craft and Hobby Association, an organization designed to serve the craft and hobby industry. As jewelry makers, believe it or not, that means you because you are part of this huge billion dollar industry.

This weekend (Sunday the 10th) they have their trade show starting up, the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) 2008 Winter Convention & Trade Show, which is located this year in Anaheim, California. At this show big crafters and little crafters from all over the world merge to learn and network. That includes editors and publishers of many of the books and magazines we read, executives of mega craft stores like Hobby Lobby and Michael’s, as well as small and large craft business owners.

Why care about this organization? I am not a member, but I have considered joining before because if you are serious about creating a career in the craft industry, this group seems to have a lot to offer. You can find out more about CHA and their trade show going on right now at the organization’s web site.
